COMPETITION GETTING INTENSE for LOCAL GYMNASTS |
The girls’ gymnastics team from Sectionals is a meet where the girls, depending on the scores they receive, qualify for the State Championships. This is seen as one of the toughest competitions for the Level 4, 5, and 6 girls. The 1st Prelim was held on Sept. 9-10 at Azarian Gymnastics, the 2nd Prelim was Sept. 16-17 in For some of the girls on the Level 4 Team, this is their first year competing. Some not knowing what to expect. Eduard Azarian, owner of Azarian Gymnastics and Boys Team Head Coach, feels that he needs to take care of his kids. “These girls have done an amazing job so far this season. My goal is to keep them motivated and excited about the rest of the season.” And the girls did not disappoint. They seem to be on an amazing role this year. Most of the Level 4, 5 and 6 girls qualified for the State Championships on Nov.4, Nov. 11, and Nov. 18. Some of the top scores included; Katie Carlson with a 9.320 on Bars, Sydney Perry placed 6th all around with a score of 36.400, Kayli Davies, 11th place all around, and Elizabeth Wright, received a score of 9.275 on beam. All the girls did an amazing job and rounded up the top 30 gymnasts in their levels. With the State Championships on its way, the girls are excited and ready for the challenge of another difficult competition.
