BOYS TEAM TAKES OVER IN HAWAII

Azarian U.S. Gymnastics Training Center in Aliso Viejo had their Regional Championships in Oahu, Hawaii on Wednesday April 11- Saturday April 14. All the boys’ level 5-10, did a great job. The Regional Championships consist of gymnasts from five different regions: Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, North California, and South California. There was some great competition for our boys.

For most of the boys, this was their final and most important competition of the season, and they did not disappoint. The boys Level 9 and 10 that qualify from Regionals will go to Nationals which is in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 9-12.

All the boys had an incredible meet, and most of them beat their own personal records. Our Level 5, boys had an amazing meet. Some of the top scores were: Joey Ringer, who placed 4th All-Around in his age group, Christopher Diem, placed 2nd on Rings, Peter Menke placed 1st place on 4 events, and took 1st All Around, and Josh Menke got a 9.250 on P. Bars.

For our Level 6 boys some of the best scores included: Marty Strech who placed 1st  All – Around, Mark Lohde got a 9.075 on Vault, CJ Litton got an 8.950 on Vault, Bryan Falzetti placed 26th All-Around, and Kyle Harper got a 9.100 on Vault.

For Level 7, the scores were: Adam Young, who got a 9.350 on Vault, and Kevin Tran placed 1st on Floor with a score of 9.550, Brion Kerry, got a 9.400 on Floor and came in 3rd, Brandon Peters rounded of up the top 20 competitors in the Region, and Jeremiah Delayo who won Vault with a 9.500.

For the boys Level 9, Kevin Wolting got a 9.250 on Floor, and Michael Custodio placed 3rd on Floor with a score of 9.400.

The boys Level 10 scores were: Donothan Bailey, won High Bar and placed  2nd All-Around and made the JO National team which is the top 6 boys from each level, Andrew Duron, got an 8.075 on Floor, one of his strongest events, Alex Goodman, got an 8.275 on Vault, Jimmy Kerry placed 9th All-Around, Steven Lacombe got an 8.500 on Vault, Erik Lundgren placed 11th All-Around, and Sean Reilly got an 8.100 on Rings.
